Students completing this course successfully will be able to
- draw free body diagrams of truss, beam, and/or frame structures,
- use equilibrium equations to analyze 2-d and 3-d engineering problems,
- find moment at any point in a 2-d and/or 3-d structure,
- find the centroids of 1-d, 2-d, and 3-d objects,
- find reaction forces and/or moments at the support for 2-d and 3-d problems,
- find member forces of truss structures (using methods of joints, sections),
- draw shear, moment diagrams for beams, under various loading and different
boundary conditions,
- analyze and solve frictional problems
- find the moment of inertias of cross sections with various geometries
