$Id: 11142003 | Jae Yoon ------------------------------------------------ How to Run Qual2Eu under Windows NT/2000 ------------------------------------------------ Yes, it is a bit weird behavioral pattern of QUAL2EU under NT/2000, I'd admit. Normal 'Run' procedure in Windows interface would not not create the *.out and *.dou files that you're looking for. To obviate such problems, modifications were made. Please do; 1) Download the installation zip file and unzip to install QAUL2EU. Make it sure to configure environmental parameters correctly -- see "Installation Guide for QUAL2EU for MS Windows NT & 2000" file for further detail. 2) Use the QUAL2EU windows interface to fill in the parameters and generate stream configuration (i.e., go through each parameter screen by clicking on 'Next' button. 3) Once you see the "End of QUAL2E input screes! Press Run to execute the input values, if desired." message box, click on 'Run' button. This will create the qual2e input file, *.run based on QUAL2E project stub file (*.inp). 4) Do not click on 'Ok' buttom in "Do you want to see output..." message box. Click on 'Cancel' and close the message box. 5) Open a DOS window (=command prompt), change to %Q2edir% directory (= your QUAL2E installation root directory). 6) Locate GO_E.BAT (for Enhanced QUAL2 analysis) or GO_U.BAT (for Uncertainty analysis) and manually run *.run file [from command prompt]. (i.e., GO_E QAL2Eabc.RUN) This will create the *.out and *.dou output files along with *.par and a couple of other files. 7) Once you run above step successfully, return to the QUAL2EU windows interface. Use 'Utilies' menu to generate and view graphic output. Output data can be view by opening *out file in your text editor. 8) You can again open another QUAL2E project *.inp files. You should be able to directly see the *.out file and use the graphics to view and plot results.
