| How to register and access
a course?
Students are enrolled as Non-Degree
Students. This simply means you
are not presently interested in seeking a graduate degree (MS or PhD) , and do
not need to formally apply
and be admitted to the Graduate School meeting all eligibility criteria. However,
all four courses taken in a non-degree status, may be applied to the graduate
degree at a later date, if you are interested, apply, and are admitted as a Degree-Seeking
Student. Please see the FAQ for more information. Please also see the link for how to obtain the MS degree online.
Once registered, you will be provided with an ODU
Student E-Mail Account to access the video stream for your class.

the Blackboard
course system that will be used for homework submittals and all communication
needs
in each class.
When does the next course start and how to register?
The course,CEE 782 Design of Coastal Structures begins Wednesday, Aug 27 at 7:10pm EDT. Please use the following procedures to enroll at any
time up to Tuesday ,September 2. You may register at any time.
International Student Registration
1. Find and print out the international student, non-degree, graduate student application. It is located at
http://admissions.odu.edu/forms/ODU INTL NONDEGREE APP.pdf (This link is not presently connected so you must type in the above address)
2. Fill it out and fax it directly to

3. They will load the application in the system and send you an email confirmation.
4. You may then register for the course.
5. The Application Fee ($40) and TOEFL requirements are waived for International Students.
US Students Registration
See FAQ page for registration instructions. The Application Fee of $40 is required for all US students.
How do the logistics work for questions, homework, and examinations?
Some graduate students sit in the TV
classroom on
the ODU campus. Voice and pictures for all to view are provided. Some students
are located at Satellite Campus Centers around the State of Virginia. Only
voice communication is provided for these student's questions. Students on
the Internet type in questions that appear on the instructor
screen for immediate response. This is a fully synchronous course with continuous, live interaction with all internet students during the lectures. This is not a course with only video conferencing. Homework is assigned on Blackboard.
The TELETECHNET Center at the university
provides a courier service for Satellite Centers. Internet students submit homework
via Blackboard. Homework is graded and discussed via Blackboard for Internet students. Proctors are
necessary for Internet student examinations and some additional costs may be
incurred for return of the two examinations (mid-term, final) each semester. All lectures are digitally taped for
viewing at a later time, at your convenience.
